The world watched on eagerly as President Donald Trump met with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Apart from the attack on Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s clothing, and the misunderstanding from Trump, obviously believing that the horrific war between Ukraine and Russia was just a simple game of uno, one part that shocked me the most was when  Vice-President JD Vance attempted to back Donald Trump for his bullying, most likely hoping for an extra belly rub at the end of the meeting.

This support from JD Vance just reminded me so much of bullies in a primary school playground and their mates, and just like those little kids, they don’t take well to criticism and don’t accept any wrongdoing. JD Vance clearly wants us to notice this as he criticised Britain for not waging random wars, unlike the so-called peacekeeping America. JD Vance was quoted saying “some random country that hasn’t fought a war in 30 or 40 years.” However, need he be reminded that Britain has followed America into war on multiple occasions, such as the war in Iraq.

However, it is extremely strange that JD Vance is even a Vice President after his numerous attacks on Donald Trump, during the 2016 election run-up. For example, JD Vance was called out for comparing the MAGA campaigner, Donald Trump to the Nazi campaigner, Adolf Hitler (this is one of the only things I can agree with JD Vance on.) 

On the topic of Nazis, Elon Musk is another member of Trump’s deranged fan club, and instead of writing fan fiction about their idol, he decides to tweet (posts on X) about Trump, as if he is his very own cult leader “The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated.” 

After the inauguration of Donald Trump, and officially getting his role as the head of ‘The Department of Government Efficiency,’ or DOGE,  Elon Musk, the man who decided to name one of his 14 children (at the time of writing this) after his favourite plane, seems to be having a power trip. Elon Musk, on the day of the inauguration, decided to show his superior intellect by performing what he called giving his heart out to the crowd, but what most people call a Nazi salute.

Elon Musk’s other form of intimidation was waving a chainsaw around as if it was a toy, in front of his fellow right-wing fanatics. As a bonus, Musk wore a shirt with the words ‘TECH SUPPORT’ during a meeting at the White House—a blatant disregard for the dress code. Meanwhile, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, right in the middle of a brutal war, was criticized for not prioritizing his clothing. It’s clear that the intimidation Musk uses allows him to break the rules without consequence, while Zelenskyy faces unnecessary scrutiny just for focusing on more important matters. 

As a Mexican wave (oh no sorry, Donald Trump isn’t a fan of that type of wave) of applause hit the crowd of the conservative conference, all of us who still have common sense, worried for the future of our world and where it has become. Our world has become somewhere where it is acceptable to call back people criminals and to call immigrants job-stealing. It seems we are slowly progressing to another Nazi outbreak, but this time instead of America stopping the Nazis, they have become them. America has contracted the viral infection that is fascism. 

I wonder, if at the end of the day, after writing in his pretty pink MAGA diary, recalling all of the “amazing” things he and his team have done, he is proud of himself, and where he has come. He has picked some of the worst people he could to be alongside him, one man who attacked him and the other thinks he is in charge of the government. Silly man.
